MLB: Boston 6, Baltimore 1

BALTIMORE, April 25 (UPI) -- Curt Schilling scattered an earned run and five hits over seven innings Wednesday as the Boston Red Sox topped the Baltimore Orioles 6-1.

Kevin Youkilis went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while David Ortiz went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for Boston. Alex Cora hit a solo home run, and both Mike Lowell and Manny Ramirez drove in two runs for the Red Sox, who had dropped their previous two games.

Boston's Mike Lowell extended his hitting streak to 11 straight games.

Schilling (3-1) walked two batters and struck out three.

Miguel Tejada hit a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth, and Paul Bako had two of the five hits for the Orioles, who have a three-game losing streak.

Tejada extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Losing pitcher Daniel Cabrera (1-2) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and five hits in 6 2/3 innings with five walks and five strikeouts.
