NBA: Dallas 109, Boston 95

BOSTON, March 23 (UPI) -- Jason Terry helped Dallas to a quick start Friday night and the Mavericks rolled to their fifth straight win, 109-95 over Boston.

Terry made 11 of his 15 attempts from the field and scored 29 points in helping the Mavericks win for the 22nd time in 24 games. Their two losses in that stretch came in consecutive outings, ending a 17-game winning streak.

Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points and Josh Howard had 19. The Mavericks shot 56 percent from the field.

Paul Pierce scored 30 for Boston, losers of three in a row.

The Mavericks opened a 17-point lead after one period, but saw that margin cut to five at halftime. A 23-8 Dallas run in the third quarter put the game away.
