NHL: N.Y. Islanders 5, Atlanta 2

ATLANTA, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Victor Kozlov had two goals and one assist Thursday night to lead the New York Islanders past Atlanta, 5-2.

New York had a 2-1 advantage heading into the third period on goals by Kozlov in the first and Miroslav Satan in the second, and then erupted for three goals in the third. Jason Blake and Trent Hunter scored in the third before Kozlov's empty-netter capped the scoring.

Mike Dunham made 30 saves on 32 shots for the Islanders, who have split their last four games.

Jon Sim and Jim Slater scored, Slater added an assist, and Kari Lehtonen gave up four goals on 30 shots for the Thrashers, who also have split their last four games.

Hunter scored the only power-play goal.
