LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Interim head coach Randy Wittman got his first NBA win Saturday night as Minnesota topped the Los Angeles Clippers, 101-87.
Kevin Garnett led the way with 32 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals.
Mike James had 17 points and seven rebounds; Mark Blount had 12 points and seven rebounds; and Ricky Davis added 11 points and six assists as the Timberwolves, who forged a 46-38 halftime lead, snapped a six-game losing streak.
They forced 26 turnovers in the contest.
Elton Brand led the Clippers with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
Corey Maggette had 19 points and four rebounds; while Sam Cassell had 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists for the Clippers, who had a four-game winning streak broken despite out-rebounding Minnesota, 43-36.
