NBA: Boston 122, New York 118

NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce scored 39 points -- 29 in the second half -- and Boston came back from a 56-53 halftime deficit Saturday night to beat the Knicks, 122-118.

The Celtics led by 20 at one point in the third quarter.

Ryan Gomes had 22 points and 14 rebounds for Boston. Wally Szczerbiak had 20 points, two rebounds and two assists; and Sebastian Telfair had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Celtics -- who have a three-game winning streak.

Jamal Crawford had 37 points and five rebounds for New York. Nate Robinson scored 20 points, and Steve Francis added 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Knicks -- who had beaten reigning NBA champion Miami by 24 points Friday night.

Boston had a slight 47-46 edge in rebounds.
