NHL: Carolina 2, N.Y. Rangers 1

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Rod Brind'Amour scored his eighth goal of the year with 6:05 to play Wednesday night to carry the Carolina Hurricanes past the visiting New York Rangers, 2-1.

Brind'Amour's wrist shot off the crossbar broke a 1-1 and gave Carolina a 2-2 record on its four-game home stand.

The Hurricanes opened the scoring at 2:51 in the first period on Craig Adams' third goal of the season.

Jaromir Jagr tied the contest at 1-1 with a power-play goal in the second at 3:58.

Jagr has 29 points this season, one point behind league leader Marian Hossa of Atlanta.
