NHL: N.Y. Islanders 5, New Jersey 2

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Jason Blake had a goal and two assists Thursday night to help the New York Islanders beat New Jersey, 5-2.

Trent Hunter, Miroslav Satan, Alexei Zhitnik and Viktor Kozlov each scored once. Alexei Yashin had three assists and goaltender Rick DiPietro made 14 saves on only 16 shots for the Islanders (6-4-2), who have 14 points after the victory and are tied with Pittsburgh for first place in the Atlantic Division.

Travis Zajac and Zach Parise scored goals, Jamie Langenbrunner had two assists and goalie Martin Brodeur allowed five goals on 27 shots for the Devils (6-5-1), who are second in the division with 13 points.

On the power play, the Islanders went 1-for-5 while the Devils went 0-for-6.
