NHL: Montreal 3, Boston 2

BOSTON, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Andrei Markov scored a power-play goal with less than two seconds left Thursday night to give Montreal a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins.

Michael Ryder and Christopher Higgins scored the other goals. Both Huggins and Sheldon Souray had two assists and goalie Cristobal Huet made 34 saves on 36 shots for the Canadiens (5-2-2), who are second to Buffalo in the Northeast Division with 12 points.

Phil Kessel and Zdeno Chara scored the goals, Glen Murray and Patrice Bergeron each had two assists and goaltender Tim Thomas gave up three goals on 30 shots for the Bruins (2-5-1).

Chara's power play goal at 18:29 tied the score at 2-2.

Boston is in last place in the Northeast Division with five points.

On the power play, Montreal was 2-for-6 and Boston went 1-for-8.
