LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Detroit's Robert Lang scored a pair of third-period goals to lift the Red Wings over the Los Angeles Kings, 3-1, Monday.

Kris Draper also scored, while Chris Osgood came up with 22 saves for the Red Wings, who have won three of their last four.

Sean Avery scored his first goal of the season for Los Angeles, which has dropped three straight.

Dan Cloutier turned away 24 shots in the loss.
