NHL: Atlanta 4, Boston 1

ATLANTA, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Marian Hossa had a goal and an assist Wednesday night as Atlanta beat the Boston Bruins, 4-1, to remain unbeaten after four games.

Jon Sim, Scott Mellanby, and Glen Metropolit also scored once; Slava Kozlov had two assists; and goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 22 saves on the 23 shots he faced for the Thrashers (3

Before Lehtonen gave up a goal at 5:14 of the second period, he set a franchise record for consecutive shutout minutes with 167 as the Thrashers improved to seven points in the Southeast Division standings.

P.J. Axelsson scored the lone goal on the power play after assists by Brad Boyes and Zdeno Chara; while goalie Hannu Toivonen gave up four goals on 28 shots for the Bruins (1-2-0), who have two points in three games.

On the power play, Atlanta was 1-for-4 and the Bruins went 1-for-8.
