MLB: Houston 7, Cincinnati 2

HOUSTON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Roger Clemens gave up two singles in six scoreless innings Wednesday afternoon as Houston clobbered the Cincinnati Reds, 7-2.

The 44-year-old Clemens, who is expected to retire permanently after the 2006 season ends, likely was pitching for the last time in front of the home fans at Minute Maid Park. Clemens (7-5) walked three batters and struck out six.

Luke Scott hit a solo home run and a three-run triple, Craig Biggio hit a three-run homer, and both Scott and Brad Ausmus had two hits for the Astros (73-78), who have split their last four games.

Juan Castro hit a two-run single and Ray Olmedo had two hits for the Reds (74-78), who have dropped three of their last four games.

Losing pitcher Bronson Arroyo (14-10) surrendered seven runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings with four walks and four strikeouts.

He had won his previous four starts.
