MILWAUKEE, July 26 (UPI) -- Jose Bautista and Jason Bay hit solo home runs and Craig Wilson had two hits and two RBI Wednesday afternoon as Pittsburgh beat Milwaukee, 8-4.
Bay had two hits; Sean Casey had a run, two hits and one RBI; and Joe Randa had two runs and one hit for the Pirates (37-66), who have won two in a row and split their last four games.
Winner Paul Maholm (4-9) surrendered four runs and seven hits in seven innings with one walk and four strikeouts.
Bill Hall hit a three-run homer and knocked in all the Milwaukee runs. Brady Clark had two runs and two hits, and Mike Rivera had two hits for the Brewers (48-54).
In five innings, losing pitcher Chris Capuano (10-6) allowed six runs and 11 hits.
Despite their second straight loss, Milwaukee remained in the National League wild-card chase.
