MLB: Seattle 4, Minnesota 2

SEATTLE, June 7 (UPI) -- Ichiro Suzuki collected four hits and knocked in a run in pacing the Seattle Mariners to a 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Seattle starter Felix Hernandez (5-6) scattered seven hits and gave up one run over seven innings in Tuesday's game. Minnesota managed 10 hits overall, with Joe Mauer and Jason Kubel combining for seven of them.

Suzuki drove in his run in the Mariners' fourth inning. Mike Morse doubled in Kenji Johjima and reached home after a wild pitch and Suzuki's single off Hernandez' hand for a two-run lead.

Minnesota made the score 2-1 when Mauer doubled in Kubel but Seattle got the run back in the sixth when Willie Bloomquist beat a throw home on an infield grounder by Morse.

The Mariners' final run came in the seventh when Jose Lopez scored on a Raul Ibanez double. Kubel added his second home run of the season leading off the Minnesota eighth to complete the scoring.

Mauer used his four-hit game to raise his American League-leading batting average to .368. Suzuki is third in the AL at .350.
