CHICAGO, May 31 (UPI) -- Greg Maddux ended a personal 4-game losing streak in helping the Chicago Cubs to a rain-delayed 8-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Maddux (6-4) had not won in the month of May but allowed three runs and seven hits over 5 2/3 innings Tuesday in collecting the 324th victory of his career. Maddux is tied with Nolan Ryan and Don Sutton for 13th place on the all-time victory list.

Jacque Jones had a solo home run and drove in three other runs as the Cubs waited out a rain delay of more than an hour before finishing off the win and handing Brandon Claussen (3-6) the loss.

Chicago trailed 1-0 after the second but came back after the rain delay with a 2-out, 4-run fourth inning. Matt Murton doubled and Claussen walked two batters to set up a 3-run double by Jones. Jones scored on a Henry Blanco single.

The Cubs increased their lead in the fifth when Juan Pierre doubled, stole third and scored on a throwing error on that play.
