SAN FRANSCISCO, Calif., May 24 (UPI) -- Juan Encarnacion and Hector Luna each had two hits and two runs Wednesday as St. Louis beat San Francisco, 10-4.
Scott Speizio, Yadier Molina and So Taguchi all had one run and two hits; while Albert Pujols had two hits for the Cardinals (31-16), who won seven of their last eight games.
Winning pitcher Adam Wainwright (2-1), who homered in his first major-league at bat, gave up two runs and four hits in three innings of relief.
Omar Vizquel went 3-for-3, scored once and drove in a run; Todd Greene had one run and two hits; while both Steve Finley and Mark Sweeney had one run and one hit for the Giants (24-23), who have dropped two in a row since a three-game winning streak.
Loser Bobby Howry fell to 1-2.
