MLB: Toronto 4, Tampa Bay 1

TORONTO, May 23 (UPI) -- Roy Halladay allowed just one run in 8 2/3 innings Tuesday as the Toronto Blue Jays posted a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Halladay (6-1) won his fifth straight decision. The 2003 American League Cy Young Award winner retired 10 consecutive batters after surrendering his lone run in the second. He struck out seven while scattering seven hits and walking none.

B.J. Ryan recorded the final out of the game to pick up his 11th save in as many chances this season. Ryan has given up just one earned run in 20 appearances this year.

Shea Hillenbrand homered and Reed Johnson finished 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Blue Jays.

Mark Hendrickson (3-4) was the loser, allowing two runs on eight hits in six innings. Ty Wigginton went 2-for-3 and scored the only run for Tampa Bay.
