Dwayne Roloson made 36 saves for Edmonton, which lost its sixth one-goal game of the 2006 playoffs.

Sergei Samsonov tied the score at 1-1 for the Oilers with 4:37 to go in the second period, the only shot to get past Toskala. But shortly after that the Sharks were able to convert a power play. Thornton took a pass from Jonathan Cheechoo and tipped the puck into a wide open right side of the net for what proved to be the game-winner.

The Sharks took a 1-0 lead in the first period with Preissing's first goal of the playoffs.
