MLB: Tampa Bay 5, Toronto 2

TORONTO, April 9 (UPI) -- Russell Branyan hit a two-run go-ahead double in the top of the eighth inning Sunday as Tampa Bay beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-2.

Branyan was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Travis Lee also went 2-for-4 and hit his third home run of the season, and Tomas Perez had a hit and scored once.

Winner Scott Kazmir (1-1) scattered two runs and 12 hits over 8 2/3 innings. He walked one and fanned six as the Devil Rays improved to 3-3.

Reed Johnson was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, and Troy Glaus and Benjie Molina both had two hits for the Blue Jays (3-3).

Losing pitcher Roy Halladay (1-1) surrendered five runs and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
