NBA: Washington 108, Boston 91

BOSTON, April 5 (UPI) -- Gilbert Arenas had 38 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals Wednesday night as Washington beat the Boston Celtics, 108-91.

Caron Butler added 26 points, six rebounds and five steals; Antawn Jamison had 13 points and four rebounds; Jared Jeffries had eight points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals; and Antonio Daniels had eight points, eight assists, and three rebounds for the Wizards (39-35), who have won four of their last six outings to rise four games above .500 for the first time this season.

Paul Pierce totaled 29 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals; Delonte West added 15 points, three rebounds and five assists; and Tony Allen had 14 points, two rebounds and two steals for the Celtics (31-44).

Boston has lost dropped eight of its past 12 contests and fallen four games out of the final playoff spot in the East.
