PHILADELPHIA, March 6 (UPI) -- Petr Nedved scored the game-winning goal in a shootout Monday as the Philadelphia Flyers posted a 5-4 victory over the Montreal Canadians.
Peter Forsberg and Joni Pitkanen both had a goal and an assist, R.J. Umberger and Eric Desjardins each a goal, and Robert Esche made 32 saves for the Flyers, who snapped a four-game losing streak with their first win since the Olympic break.

Mike Ribeiro scored twice and Chris Higgins and Sheldon Souray each added a goal for Montreal, which had a three-game winning streak halted. Cristobal Huet stopped 24 shots.
The Flyers have not dropped five games in a row since March 28-April 4, 2002.
