NBA: Denver 89, San Antonio 85

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony had 20 points and eight rebounds Sunday as the Denver Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs, 89-85.

Andre Miller had 15 points, 10 assists and five steals; Francisco Elson added 13 points, six rebounds and two steals; and Earl Boykins scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as Denver (21-19) increased its winning streak to five games after a one-point halftime deficit.

Nazr Mohammed had 17 points and 12 rebounds, both season-high totals for him; Tim Duncan had 14 points and 13 rebounds; and Tony Parker had 13 points and seven assists for the Spurs (31-10), who played without both Robert Horry and Manu Ginobili, who missed the contest because of injuries.

The Nuggets had 32 fast break points while the Spurs had the advantage in rebounds, 44-39.
