NBA: Boston 103; Minnesota 96

BOSTON, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce totaled 25 points and eight rebounds Wednesday night to help the Boston Celtics beat Minnesota, 103-96.

Reserve Al Jefferson added 18 points and eight rebounds; Kendrick Perkins registered 17 points and six rebounds while Delonte West had 14 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Celtics (15-23), who have won only twice in their last seven games.

Kevin Garnett had 29 points and 13 rebounds; Wally Szczerbiak had 22 points, six rebounds and three assists; Trenton Hassell had 18 points, four rebounds and three assists; and Troy Hudson recorded 13 points, two rebounds and six assists for the Timberwolves (18-18).

Minnesota, which out-rebounded the Celtics, 45-43, had a three-game winning streak snapped.
