NFL: New England 16, NY Jets 3

FOXBORO, Mass., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Tom Brady threw for 271 yards and the Patriots defense gave up only 164 yards Sunday as New England defeated the New York Jets, 16-3.

Brady was 27-of-37 with no touchdowns or interceptions. Corey Dillon carried the ball 16 times for 65 yards and a TD for the Patriots (7-5), who have won three of their last four games and retain a two-game lead in the AFC East.

Adam Vinatieri, who went 3-for-4 on field goals, now has 1,135 points and became the leading scorer in Patriots history, surpassing Gino Cappelletti's mark of 1,130 points.

Brooks Bollinger was 15-of-37 for 135 yards and one interception and Curtis Martin only managed 29 yards on 15 carries for the Jets (2-10), who have now lost seven straight.
