PALM DESERT, Calif., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Grace Park is the leader after two rounds of the Samsung World Championship at Palm Desert, Calif.
Park shot 6-under 66 Friday and stands at 11-under-par 133 after 36 holes. She is being challenged by 15-year-old Michelle Wie, who carded a 7-under 65 Friday and is tied for second place with Annika Sorenstam (71) -- who led after the first round -- and reigning Rookie of the Year Paula Creamer (69), who has two tournament titles in 2005.
Catriona Matthew (66) is tied for fifth place with Cristie Kerr (71) at 8-under 136. Reigning Women's British Open champion Jeong Jang (68), Rosie Jones (67) and Gloria Park (72) are tied in seventh at 7-under 137.
One stroke behind that group are Marisa Baena (70), Sophie Gustafson (68), Lorie Kane (72), Candie Kung (68) and Meena Lee (69) at 6-under 138.
The field is playing for $850,000.
