MLB: Atlanta 4, Washington 0

WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones hit his 47th home run Saturday afternoon to help the Atlanta Braves beat Washington, 4-0.

Jones is tied for the most homers by a Brave in a single season with Eddie Matthews (1953) and Hank Aaron (1971). Rookie Brian McCann added a three-run blast and both Ryan Langerhans and Jeff Francoeur had one hit and one run scored.

Winner Jorge Sosa rose to 11-3. He hurled eight shutout innings, scattered six hits, did not walk a batter and fanned three, improving to 8-0 on the road this season.

Both Deivi Cruz and Ryan Church had two hits for the Nationals, who have lost four of five.

Losing pitcher Livan Hernandez fell to 15-7. He gave up four runs and seven hits in eight innings with three walks and five strikeouts.

Washington dropped to 40-31 at home.
