MLB: Atlanta 4, N.Y. Mets 3 (10 inn.)

ATLANTA, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Ryan Langerhans hit a game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the 10th inning Wednesday night as Atlanta eased past the New York Mets, 4-3.

Langerhans had three hits and three RBI, and Jeff Francoeur added two hits and scored one run for the Braves, who picked up their 18th win in their last at-bat. Winner John Foster improved to 4-1.

Kaz Matsui, Carlos Beltran and David Wright each had two hits, and Chris Woodward hit an RBI single for New York, which has fallen five games behind front-running Houston in the National League wild-card race after its seventh loss in eight.

Braden Looper dropped to 4-7. Shingo Takatsu suffered his third blown save.
