MLB: Milwaukee 11, Florida 2

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers scored six runs in the fourth inning Tuesday and went on to trounce the Florida Marlins, 11-2.

The Brewers have won five of their last seven, while the Marlins lost for just the fifth time in 14 games. With the loss, Florida fell a half game behind Houston in the National League wild card standings..

Milwaukee starter Chris Capuano (14-8) won his second straight start, allowing two runs and eight hits in eight innings. He walked just one and struck out eight.

The Milwaukee offense was led by J.J. Hardy (2-for-4, two runs), Rickie Weeks (3-for-3, two walks) and Bill Hall (2-for-5, two runs), who each had two RBI as the Brewers had 13 hits.

Marlins starter Josh Beckett (12-7) suffered the loss after giving up seven runs -- six earned -- on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings.
