Singh again wins the Buick Open

GRAND BLANC, Mich., July 31 (UPI) -- Vijay Singh won the Buick Open Sunday by four strokes and became the tournament's first three-time champion.

Over the closing 18 holes, Singh shot a 2-under 70 and finished at 24-under-par 264, joining Tony Lema (1964-65) as the only two players to repeat as Buick champions.

Tiger Woods, who made a late charge, bogeyed the last hole and ended with a 6-under 66 Sunday. He was joined in a tie for second place at 20-under-par 268 with Zach Johnson, who shot 69.

Robert Allenby (65) was fourth at minus-18. Dudley Hart closed with a 66 to finish fifth at 17-under-par 271. Jim Furyk, the 2003 champion, joined Jeff Brehaut one shot further back at minus-16 after each man shot 68 Sunday.

Sean O'Hair shot 71 and tied for eighth at 15-under 273, joining Craig Barlow (69), Richard S. Johnson (68) and Heath Slocum (67).
