MLB: Texas 7, L.A. Angels 6 (11 inn.)

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 30 (UPI) -- An RBI single by Alfonso Soriano in the bottom of the 11th inning Wednesday night gave Texas a 7-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Winning pitcher Kameron Loe improved to 1-1. Loser Scot Shields fell to 6-5.

Mark Teixeira drove in two runs, Gary Matthews Jr. hit a two-run homer and Michael Young had four hits and one RBI for the Rangers, who snapped the Angels' eight-game winning streak.

Texas won for just the second time in its last 10 games.

Vladimir Guerrero had three hits, including a home run, for the Angels. He picked up his 1,500th career hit with a single to right in the 10th inning. The Angels' lead over Texas in the American League West stands at 7 1/2 games.
