The victory gave Biffle five Nextel Cup series wins this season. It was the eighth of his career.

Roush Racing teammates Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Roush Racing drivers have now combined for eight wins through the first Nextel Cup 15 events: Biffle with five, Edwards two, and Kurt Busch with one.

Series points leader Jimmie Johnson finished a disappointing 19th and his lead over Biffle shrank to just 49 points. This race formerly was called the Michigan 500, but now is sponsored.
