SEATTLE, April 21 (UPI) -- Rich Harden allowed five hits over seven innings Thursday night and Mark Kotsay hit a two-run homer, giving Oakland a 3-0 win over Seattle.
Harden (2-0) reduced his ERA this season to 0.44. Octavio Dotel worked the ninth for his third save.

The loss went to Ryan Franklin (1-2), who gave up just four hits over eight innings.
With the Athletics already leading by one in the third, Marco Scutaro singled to center and Kotsay followed by hitting Franklin's first pitch over the wall in right.
