NFL: New England 40, St. Louis 22

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- The once-beaten New England Patriots defeated the St. Louis Rams, 40-22, Sunday.

Adam Vinatieri kicked four field goals and threw a touchdown pass and Tom Brady completed 18 of 31 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns for the Patriots (7-1).

Last week, New England lost at Pittsburgh and ended its NFL-record, 21-game winning streak.

Corey Dillon rushed for 112 yards for the Patriots. Dillon sat out the game against the Steelers with a thigh injury.

St. Louis quarterback Marc Bulger completed 23 of 33 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns. Torry Holt caught six passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. Marshall Faulk rushed for 66 yards for the Rams (4-4).
