MLB: Houston 1, Milwaukee 0 (10 inn.)

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Craig Biggio's sacrifice fly scored Willy Taveras in the 10th inning Friday night, giving Houston a 1-0 victory over Milwaukee.

The Astros remained 2 1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the National League wild card race.

Brad Lidge (6-5) struck out three over 1 2/3 scoreless innings for the win. Dan Miceli retired the side in the 10th for his second save.

It was the fifth win in seven games for Houston. Milwaukee has lost 10 of 11.

Mike Adams (2-3) opened the 10th on the mound for Milwaukee and he gave up a bunt single to Brad Ausmus with one out.

Taveras was called on as a pinch runner and he went to third on a single by Orlando Palmeiro. Biggio then flew out to right and Taveras scored easily.

Houston's Roger Clemens struck out 12 over 7 1/3 innings. Milwaukee's Doug Davis fanned eight over seven frames.
