MLB: Boston 12, Anaheim 7

BOSTON, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Kevin Millar hit a long three-run homer and drove in four runs Wednesday night as Boston outslugged Anaheim, 12-7.

Mark Bellhorn, David Ortiz and Orlando Cabrera all drove in two runs for the Red Sox, who have won eight straight and 14 of 15.

Boston stayed 3 1/2 games behind the division leading New York Yankees, who defeated Cleveland Wednesday night.

Boston starter Bronson Arroyo worked only 2 2/3 innings, giving up five runs on six hits. Anaheim has lost three of four games and fell 3 1/2 games behind the Red Sox in the wild card race.

Boston scored twice in the fourth to break a 5-5 tie. Johnny Damon doubled with one out and scored on a double by Bellhorn. Manny Ramirez singled Bellhorn to third, from where he scored on a sacrifice fly from Ortiz.
