MLB: Oakland 5, Baltimore 4

BALTIMORE, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Erubiel Durazo hit three home runs, including a solo blast tie-breaker in the eighth, as Oakland defeated Baltimore, 5-4 Wednesday night.

Durazo finished 4-for-4 and drove in all five runs for the Athletics, who swept the set. Mark Kotsay added two hits for Oakland, which recorded its first three-game sweep in Baltimore since August 28-30, 2001.

Mark Mulder (16-4) earned his major league-leading 16th win as he pitched eight innings.

Miguel Tejada and B.J. Surhoff each had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Orioles, who have dropped four of their last five games.

Sidney Ponson pitched six innings for Baltimore but did not figure into the decision. The eighth-inning homer made a loser of B.J. Ryan (3-3).
