Posada began the 10th with a walk against Jason Frasor (3-3) and advanced to second on Hideki Matsui's single. Two batters later, Clark drove Frasor's pitch off the center field wall to send home Posada for the game-winning tally.

The Blue Jays trailed 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth before rallying for two runs against Mariano Rivera, who blew his second straight save.

Rivera (2-1) allowed two runs and three hits in two innings but sealed the win by tossing a perfect 10th.
