MLB: Chicago White Sox 17, Minnesota 7

MINNEAPOLIS, May 23 (UPI) -- Carlos Lee went 4-for-5 with six RBI Sunday as the Chicago White Sox had 23 hits en route to routing the Minnesota Twins, 17-7.

Aaron Rowand had four hits, including a three-run homer, and scored four times for Chicago, which batted around twice and produced its most runs since a 19-3 triumph at Kansas City last Sept. 27.

The White Sox trailed, 6-3, before Miguel Olivo and Juan Uribe began the fourth inning with back-to-back homers against Johan Santana (2-2), who was chased after giving up consecutive singles to Rowand and Magglio Ordonez.

Lee greeted Grant Balfour with a two-run single and Paul Konerko followed with an RBI single to make it 8-6.

Aaron Fultz replaced Balfour but immediately gave up a run-scoring single to Jose Valentin.

Jon Garland (4-2) got the win despite allowing six runs and 10 hits in seven innings.
