NEW YORK, Nev., May 22 (UPI) -- Ty Wigginton hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth Saturday night as the New York Mets beat Colorado, 5-4.

David Weathers (4-1) pitched a scoreless eighth and Braden Looper worked around a leadoff double by Jeromy Burnitz in the ninth for his seventh save.

Kaz Matsui also homered for the Mets, who squandered a three-run lead.

The loss spoiled a three-hit night for Burnitz, who gave the Rockies a 4-3 lead with a two-run triple in the fifth.
