MLB: Anaheim 12, Oakland 2

OAKLAND, Calif., April 23 (UPI) -- Troy Glaus had a homer and RBI single Friday night as Anaheim roughed up Barry Zito and whipped Oakland, 12-2.

Zito (2-2) entered with a 10-4 career record against the Angels, including a victory last Sunday. The lefthander had not allowed a home run in his last 19 innings, but Glaus ended that streak with a two-out, two-run blast in the first.

The Angels added four runs with two outs in the second inning. Darin Erstad stroked a two-run double and Vladimir Guerrero had an RBI double before scoring on Glaus' single.

Former Athletic Jose Guillen drilled a three-run homer off Zito with two outs in the fourth to make it 9-0.

Zito was charged with nine runs and 10 hits in four innings.

Anaheim starter Jarrod Washburn (3-1) worked five innings and yielded two runs and five hits with five walks.
