MONTE CARLO, Monaco, April 23 (UPI) -- Guillermo Coria posted a straight-sets win Friday over David Nalbandian in the quarterfinals of the Tennis Masters Series-Monte Carlo.
The third-seeded Coria had little difficulty with the seventh-seeded Nalbandian, rolling to a 6-4, 6-3 triumph.
Coria, who beat Nalbandian in the quarterfinals en route to the championship on the clay at Buenos Aires in February, is 17-0 against his countrymen since August 2002.
Coria will next face Marat Safin.
Safin, who lost to Juan Ignacio Chela in the final at Estoril on Sunday, recorded a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Martin.
Fifth-seeded Carlos Moya, seeking his third title of the year, defeated Nikolay Davydenko, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). Moya, who won this tournament in 1998, lost to Coria in the final at Buenos Aries.
Fourth seed Rainer Schuettler advanced to a meeting with Moya by routing sixth seed Tim Henman, 6-3, 6-1. Shuettler has four career titles and is in the semifinals for the first time this season.
