NHL: Calgary 3, Los Angeles 2 (OT)

CALGARY, Alberta, March 27 (UPI) -- Shean Donovan's goal 66 seconds into overtime Saturday gave Calgary a 3-2 victory over Los Angeles, which has dropped seven straight.

Following Friday's lackluster effort in a 3-1 loss at Edmonton, Los Angeles Coach Andy Murray said, "We'll have a whole new lineup tomorrow in Calgary. We'll dress players who want to compete."

Murray stayed true to his words, scratching defensemen Lubomir Visnovsky and Jaroslav Modry and forwards Alexander Frolov and Martin Straka. But the lineup changes did not help the Kings, who gained a point but are five out of eighth place in the NHL Western Conference with just four games remaining.

The Flames struck early in overtime to climb within a point of fifth-place Vancouver.

Carrying down the right side on a 2-on-1, Donovan lifted a shot over goaltender Cristobal Huet, ending a 26-game drought.

Chris Simon and Craig Conroy also scored for Calgary.
