NHL: Toronto 6, Buffalo 5 (OT)

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 15 (UPI) -- Alexander Mogilny assisted on Tomas Kaberle's overtime game-winner Monday as Toronto beat Buffalo, 6-5.

Mogilny earned his 1,000 career NHL point when, with the goaltender pulled for an extra attacker, he put a shot on net that Gary Roberts tipped past Sabres goaltender Martin Biron.

Mogilny, who broke in with Buffalo in 1989, became the second Russian-born player to reach the plateau after Anaheim's Sergei Fedorov did it earlier this season.

The Maple Leafs rallied from a 5-2 deficit with two third-period goals by Owen Nolan and Roberts' tying tally.

Buffalo seized a 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Jochen Hecht and Daniel Briere.

Toronto captain Mats Sundin tallied twice to tie the game, 2-2, going into the first intermission.

Hecht, Miroslav Satan and J.P. Dumont scored in the second period to give the Sabres a 5-2 advantage.
