Woods, Singh, Weir, Daly in Nissan Open

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and defending champion Mike Weir are in the field for the Nissan Open, which begins Thursday at California's Riviera Country Club.

Also contending is John Daly, who won the Buick Invitational on Sunday.

Weir and Charles Howell III finished in a tie last year and the Canadian left-hander went on to win on the second playoff hole.

Woods, the world's top-ranked player, makes his third start of the season. He tied for fifth in the Nissan Open last year.

Singh, ranked No. 2 in the world, finished in the top 10 in 12 straight events before failing to make the cut in the Buick event.

The par-71 Riviera course is 7,222 yards. First prize is $864,000.
