NBA: Denver 86, Memphis 83

DENVER, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Andre Miller, scoreless in a loss at Sacramento on Sunday, scored 20 points Monday, including a jumper in the final minute, as Denver beat Memphis, 86-83.

Rookie Carmelo Anthony had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Denver, which overcame 39 percent shooting (34-of-88) by coming up with big plays down the stretch.

Denver held just an 82-81 lead when Miller hit a jumper over Earl Watson along the left baseline with 36 seconds left as the shot clock was about to expire.

Memphis scored three seconds later on a baseline dunk by Shane Battier. Miller missed a fadeaway with nine seconds left. Grizzlies center Pau Gasol appeared to have an uncontested layup in his sights but lost the ball.

Anthony sank two free throws with eight-tenths of a second left before Watson beat the defense down the court for a game-tying three-point attempt that hit the front rim.
