NHL: Florida 2, Nashville 2 (OT)

NASHVILLE, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Tomas Vokoun stopped Vaclav Nedorost on a penalty shot in the third period Saturday to help Nashville skate to a 2-2 tie with the Florida Panthers.

Nedorost had a golden opportunity to give the Panthers the lead with 14:32 remaining, when he was taken down from behind by David Legwand, resulting in a penalty shot.

Vokoun gave fans reason to cheer when he kicked out Nedorost's wrist shot with his right pad. Vokoun finished with 26 saves.

Byron Ritchie and Nathan Horton scored second-period goals for Florida, which has won just once in its last seven games (1-2-3-1).

Rem Murray scored in the first period and Martin Erat tallied in the second for the Predators,
