NFL: Jacksonville 27, Houston 0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Dave Ragone, playing because of injuries to David Carr and Tony Banks, passed for just 71 yards Sunday in a 27-0 Houston loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It was the first shutout for the Jaguars since a 48-0 rout of Cleveland on Dec. 3, 2001. Under rookie coach Jack Del Rio, the Jaguars allowed only 124 total yards and sacked Ragone three times.

Fred Taylor beat that total by himself, rushing for a season-high 163 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries for the Jaguars (4-9), who won their second straight.

Rookie quarterback Byron Leftwich completed 18-of-29 passes for 194 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown to Jimmy Smith.

Carr was sidelined with a bruised shoulder and Banks suffered a broken hand in last week's win over Atlanta.
