NBA: Portland 97, Indiana 95 (OT)

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The Portland Trail Blazers capped a long, emotional day Wednesday night with a 97-95 overtime win over the Indiana Pacers.

Before the contest, the Blazers shipped troublesome swingman Bonzi Wells to Memphis. Wells recently had been stripped of his co-captaincy and benched after a run-in with Coach Maurice Cheeks.

Also, forward Zach Randolph apologized to his teammates, the organization, and fans for his citation on a DUI charge Monday night, calling it an "embarrassment."

Randolph, who was booed by the home crowd, responded with a season-high 34 points.

Overtime featured five lead changes, the last on a 17-footer by Damon Stoudamire that made it 96-95 with 17 seconds to play.

Stoudamire and the volatile Rasheed Wallace scored 17 points apiece for the Trail Blazers, who have beaten the Pacers four straight times.

"Things happen in this league," Stoudamire said. "We're the Portland Trail Blazers and we've got to try to win games no matter who's on our team."

Portland improved to 9-2 at home.
