SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Saturday night to lead a balanced attack as San Antonio posted an 86-74 win over the New York Knicks.

Point guard Jason Hart, signed on Friday, made his first NBA career start, getting two points and two assists as he split time with Shane Heal.

Despite the lack of stability at such an important position, the Spurs are still built around Duncan. The reigning MVP had his third straight double-double to start the season.

Manu Ginobili scored six points and Duncan added four in a 14-6 run to close the first half, giving San Antonio a 48-38 halftime advantage. New York never got closer than seven points in the second half.

The Spurs placed six players in double figures.

Allan Houston led New York with 19 points. The Knicks were the only team to win the season series against the Spurs last year, taking both meetings.
