Atlanta 15, Montreal 5

MONTREAL, July 26 (UPI) -- Javy Lopez had a three-run triple and Gary Sheffield homered and drove in three runs Saturday to lead Atlanta to a 15-4 rout of Montreal.

With the bases loaded in the first, Lopez hit a line drive that got past right fielder Vladimir Guerrero. Lopez may have been able to extend it to an inside-the-park home run.

Lopez scored on a single by Shane Reynolds to make it 5-0.

Reynolds (8-5) got some more support in the second, when Sheffield hit his 25th homer, but allowed the Expos to cut the margin to 6-3 in the fourth on a two-run homer by Brad Wilkerson and an RBI groundout by Michael Barrett.

Reynolds allowed three runs and nine hits in seven innings.

The Braves spoiled the return of Zach Day (4-4), who lasted just two innings in his first start since May 28.
