Oakland 3, Seattle 2 (11 innings)

OAKLAND, Calif., July 2 (UPI) -- The Oakland Athletics used a two-run rally in the 11th innings Tuesday night to rally past Seattle, 3-2.

They score a run apiece against Arthur Rhodes and Jeff Nelson.

The Mariners grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the 11th on an RBI single by Ben Davis, but Nelson (3-2), inheriting runners left by Rhodes, yielded an RBI single by Terrence Long and a sacrifice fly by Jermaine Dye.

Keith Foulke (5-1) got the win, despite allowing a run and two hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Oakland starter Tim Hudson continued his mastery of the Mariners, yielding one run and five hits in eight innings. In three starts against Seattle this season, Hudson, who is tied with Darrell May of Kansas City for the American League lead with nine no-decisions, has given up just two runs in 24 innings.

Oakland improved the best home record in the American League to 29-12, one win better than Boston.
